Job summary

Air Products is seeking a Construction Technician to join our Customer Engineering team. This residence-based role requires 50-75% travel across the southern United States, with preference for a Dallas, TX base.

You will install cryogenic and gaseous product storage systems, read technical drawings, and supervise crane operations while ensuring the highest safety standards. You will collaborate with customers, manage scope, and provide startup support, training, and field maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Trade or technical degree preferred but not required.
• Ability to pass a service/pickup truck road test and DOT physical is required.
• Flexibility to travel, 75%.
• A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
• Class A CDL license is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install product storage, processing, and delivery equipment at customer sites including cryogenic tanks, pumps, and piping.
• Demonstrate high safety standards at customer sites and when driving company vehicle.
• Practice safe rigging and lifting procedures.
• Supervise crane contractors and act as Lift Supervisor for lifts via cranes with loads up to 600 tons.
• Demonstrate brazing techniques and install/pressure test piping.
• Read engineering drawings, flow sheets, and electrical schematics.
• Manage cost reporting for materials and labor.
• Provide ongoing maintenance support in the area as needed.
