Job summary

The Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, SC, is seeking a Reservation Agent to join our energetic team. You will handle telephone inquiries and reservations, promoting hotel services and maximizing room revenues.

We value courteous, accurate data entry and knowledge of room types, rates, and local area attractions. Shift is Monday-Wednesday 4 pm-8 pm with Thursday 1 pm-8 pm, and full-time flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Experience answering telephone inquiries and taking reservations.
• Knowledge of hotel services and local area preferred.
• Ability to promote hotel offerings to maximize revenue.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone promptly and courteously, following hotel guidelines to sell the hotel and Charleston area.
• Enter guest reservations into the computer system quickly and accurately, noting requests and categorizing reservations.
• Be knowledgeable of all room types, rates, package plans, hotel services, and the local area.
• Demonstrate proficiency in checking Group Block room availability, rates, and notes.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the sales processes and the front office area.
• Report rate resistance and guest challenges to the Revenue Manager.
• Maintain good relations with all guests and provide special attention to VIPs & Patriot Club members.
