Job summary

The Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, SC, is seeking a Reservation Agent to join our energetic team. You will handle telephone inquiries and reservations, promoting hotel services and maximizing room revenues.

We value courteous, accurate data entry and knowledge of room types, rates, and local area attractions. Shift is Monday-Wednesday 4 pm-8 pm with Thursday 1 pm-8 pm, and full-time flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Experience answering telephone inquiries and taking reservations.
• Knowledge of hotel services and local area preferred.
• Ability to promote hotel offerings to maximize revenue.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone promptly and courteously, following hotel guidelines to sell the hotel and Charleston area.
• Enter guest reservations into the computer system quickly and accurately, noting requests and categorizing reservations.
• Be knowledgeable of all room types, rates, package plans, hotel services, and the local area.
• Demonstrate proficiency in checking Group Block room availability, rates, and notes.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the sales processes and the front office area.
• Report rate resistance and guest challenges to the Revenue Manager.
• Maintain good relations with all guests and provide special attention to VIPs & Patriot Club members.

We have an immediate opportunity for a Reservation Agent to join our well trained, energetic team. The Reservation Agent will handle all telephone inquiries and reservations accurately and efficiently by answering the telephones courteously, promptly, and professionally while promoting hotel services and ensuring maximum room revenues.

Responsibilities Include:

• Answer telephone promptly and courteously, following AAA Four Diamond and Signature Training Guidelines to Sell the Hotel and Charleston Area.
• Enter guest reservations into the computer system quickly and accurately, while noting special requests and segmenting reservations into the appropriate category, while following the hotel's selling strategies.
• Be knowledgeable of all room types, rates, package plans, hotel services, and the local area.
• Demonstrate a proficiency in checking Group Block room availability, rates, and special notes.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the sales processes and the front office area.
• Report rate resistance and all guest challenges to the Revenue Manager.
• Maintain good relations with all guests and know and implement procedures for giving special attention to VIPs & Patriot Club members.
