Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, FL is seeking a Contracts Assistant to support the legal team with drafting, reviewing, and processing contracts. You will assist with filing contracts and tracking obligations after execution, and you will update and manage the in-house knowledge database.

Research laws and regulations—topics include alcoholic beverages, state and federal aviation, and gift cards—while ensuring adherence to contracts policies.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required; bachelor's preferred.
  • 1+ year contract experience required.
  • Excellent contract writing skills.
  • Writing sample required.
  • Knowledge of laws related to alcoholic beverages, aviation, and gift cards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting and revising NDAs, SOWs, MSAs for foods and beverages, concessions, leases, and related contracts.
  • Route documents for internal and external approvals and execution; prepare amendments as needed.
  • Research laws and regulations related to beverages, aviation, and gift cards and track compliance.
  • Maintain contract files, document control, and retention; provide client training with supervisor.
  • Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities per UD X policy and procedures.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Assists Supervisor and other Legal team members with contract drafts, contract reviews, and all areas of contracting process. Processes contracts and related documents to ensure accuracy for operational/project teams in accordance with the applicable Contracts Policies. Assists with filing contracts and tracking contractual obligations after execution. Updates and manages in-house knowledge database. Research laws and regulations (topics including, but not limited to alcoholic beverages, state and federal aviation, gift cards, and other issues as required).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists Supervisor in drafting and revising non-disclosure agreements, scopes of work, master purchase agreements for foods and beverages, concessionaire agreements, leases, and other related contracts. Routes contract documents for internal and external approvals and execution. As needed, prepares amendments and extensions of contract documents in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Verifies and researches laws and regulations as they pertain to alcoholic beverages, state and federal aviation, and gift cards. Tracks compliance with applicable regulatory matters and maintains internal knowledge database.
  • Maintains contract files, document control, and retention of files, and provides client training with assistance from Supervisor.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Associate’s degree is required.
