Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join the Renewables team. This role focuses on structural design for utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage facilities, with emphasis on foundations and retaining walls.

You will prepare design reports and plans, support project managers, and contribute to a collaborative One Team culture. A PE license is required; SE certification is a plus; minimal travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer required, S.E. registration a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
• Familiar with ASCE loading calculations.
• Background in foundation design, including shallow spread footings, slab-on-grade, and deep foundations.
• Sound verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) a must.
• Proficient with structural engineering software, such as RISA, a plus.
• AutoCAD drafting experience is a plus.
• Geotechnical background is a plus.
• Solar or wind energy background is a plus.
• Minimal travel possible.

Responsibilities

• Design foundations and retaining walls for utility-scale wind, battery storage, and solar facilities.
• Prepare or direct structural design reports, specifications, and plans.
• Assist Project Managers in the drafting and design of utility-scale solar projects.
• Provide day-to-day support and input to Project Managers.
