Job summary

Pearce Services is seeking a Renewables Control Center Technician for our Remote Operations Center (ROC). You will monitor and control wind, solar, and battery storage facilities to ensure generation requirements are met safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include operating logs, coordinating with grid entities, and scheduling outages, with a focus on reliability and responsive problem solving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a control room operator for renewable generation.
• Power generation experience, wind or solar background preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment under tight deadlines and demanding customers.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for technical and operational problems.
• Knowledge of commercial and utility-scale solar facility design, operations, and maintenance issues.
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment where decisions impact safety and reliability.
• Strong computer skills – mastery of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, TEAMS).

Responsibilities

• Identify and ticket plant outages and under-production issues using SCADA, DAS, and CMMS.
• Act as primary contact with Balancing Authorities, Transmission Operators, and Scheduling Entities.
• Maintain logs of solar plant operations and events per ROC procedures.
• Schedule outages with Scheduling Entities.
• Initiate responses to plant changes, site trips, and loss of communications.
