Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a ROC Operator to monitor and direct the 24/7 operation of our renewable generation assets from the ROC. You will oversee SCADA controls, coordinate with site operations, and ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance across the fleet.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with power systems, and clear communication with Reliability Coordinators, Balancing Authorities, and Transmission Operators.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related field; strong analytical/technical skills.
• 5+ years of applicable work experience may substitute for degree.
• Strong oral and written communication, problem solving, and analytical decision making.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and direct 24/7 renewable generation operations from ROC.
• Coordinate with site operations teams for rapid response and maintenance.
• Ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance across the fleet.
• Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and performance improvements.
• Communicate with Reliability Coordinator, Balancing Authority, and Transmission Operator.
• Maintain NERC training and certifications as required.
