Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Proposal Engineer - Renewables in Fargo, ND to lead high-quality, client-focused proposals and cost estimates. You will drive the proposal process, coordinate teams, and ensure compliance with client requirements.

You will collaborate with Sales, Technical Services, Field Services, and Project Management, while contributing to continuous improvement of proposal tools and templates. Strong communication and technical writing skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2-6 years of experience in proposal development, project management, technical writing, estimating support, or related work in Power, Renewables, infrastructure, or consulting environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to organize technical information into clear, client-focused proposal content.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines, priorities, documents, and stakeholder inputs.
Ability to work effectively across diverse teams, influence without direct authority, and communicate proactively to keep proposal activities moving forward.
Comfort working through ambiguity, asking clarifying questions, identifying gaps, and helping determine a practical path forward.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent pursuits in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows.

Responsibilities

Lead renewables proposal efforts from intake through submission, including planning, scheduling, coordination, and production.
Review RFPs and client requirements to identify gaps, compliance needs, and subcontractor needs.
Develop proposal documents, exhibits, and related sales materials using templates and brand standards.
Research, write, edit, and organize proposal content to be accurate, persuasive, and compliant.
Prepare proposal development plan (PDP) and manage assignments and communication.
Develop project cost estimates with input from pursuit team and align with proposal scope.
Support development of technical approaches, execution strategies, and resource requirements.
Collaborate with Sales, Technical Services, Field Services, Project Management, Legal, Safety, Quality, Procurement, and others.
Identify risks, exclusions, and execution considerations; communicate impacts to teams.
Coordinate final proposal packaging and electronic submission; ensure on-time delivery.
