Job summary

WSP USA hosts hundreds of internships across the United States to gain hands-on, meaningful work experience. This internship is with our Power and Energy Team in Billings, MT for a 12-week Summer program starting May 17, 2027.

As an Electrical Engineering Intern (Renewable Transmission Interconnections), you will work with senior staff, assist with design calculations, research, and project documentation, and develop technical and professional skills in a real project environment.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering, or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Consulting Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field, to advance skills for WSP’s projects.
• Interpersonal and professional communication with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Able to take direction from leadership and mentors to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and tools.
• Able to comply with health, safety and conduct policies and authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
