Job summary

WSP USA invites applications for a full-time Civil/Structural Engineering Intern (Renewable Transmission Interconnections) in Billings, MT. This 12-week summer internship targets undergrad or graduate students and starts May 17, 2027, with mentorship and exposure to real projects.

You’ll assist with research, preliminary design work, field activities, and cost estimates while learning civil/structural principles and professional ethics in a global engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil/Structural Engineering program with an anticipated graduation date Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Consulting Engineering or Renewable Energy and desire to grow in WSP’s projects.
• Strong communication and ability to work with engineering and non-engineering audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks and adhere to safety policies.
