Job summary

WSP USA in Billings, MT is offering a full-time Civil/Structural Engineering Intern position in the Renewable Transmission Interconnections area for a 12-week summer program beginning May 17, 2027.

You will support design calculations, field work, documentation, and gain hands-on experience while learning from senior staff within the Power and Energy Team. Applicants must be enrolled in Civil/Structural Engineering and meet the listed qualifications, with US work authorization and 18+ age.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil/Structural Engineering, or related, Undergraduate program with anticipated graduation August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Consulting Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Upholding workplace safety and compliance with policies.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies.
• No relocation or housing assistance provided.
