Job summary

WSP USA is offering a Summer Internship for a Civil Engineering (Transmission) Intern in the Lakewood, Colorado office. This 12-week program is scheduled to start May 17, 2027, and is open to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in related degree programs.

Interns will gain hands-on experience by working with the Power and Energy Team on real projects, including field work, design calculations, and project documentation, with mentorship and networking opportunities through WSP's

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering or related undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Civil Engineering and desire to develop skills related to WSP’s projects.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Assist in preparing final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
