WSP USA invites you to apply for a 12‑week Summer Internship in the Power and Energy Team, based in Cincinnati, OH with additional consideration for Columbus and Cleveland locations. This full‑time internship targets undergrad or graduate students seeking hands‑on experience in civil engineering for renewables and energy transition projects.

You will work alongside senior staff, participate in research, design, and cost estimation, and gain mentorship through the Developing Professionals

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering undergraduate program with anticipated graduation Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Consulting Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with audiences of engineering and non‑engineering backgrounds.
• Capable of taking direction from leaders, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software and tools.
• Proven track record of workplace safety and adherence to company policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic Civil Engineering principles.
• Assist with project research, fieldwork, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Be involved in developer interconnection process and renewable energy delivery to grid.
• Assist in substation design details including diagrams and schematics.
• Perform design calculations per IEEE, NEC, NESC, ASCE standards.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and safety policies.
