Job summary

Invenergy is hiring a Project Engineer, Renewable Electrical Engineering (SCADA). You will lead end-to-end delivery of SCADA systems and related communications for wind, solar, and storage projects, overseeing design, procurement, commissioning, testing, and turnover to Operations.

You will coordinate with plant controllers, transmission operators, and OEMs to configure data paths, ensure safe startup, and compliance with NERC and project requirements.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related degree.
• 4+ years of transmission, distribution, and/or generation SCADA systems experience.
• Knowledge of networking equipment and industrial protocols (OPC, DNP3, Modbus, EGD).
• Experience with HV/MV electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning and startup of SCADA and communications systems for wind, solar, and battery projects.
• Build and secure the plant communications network (IP plans, protocols, firewall rules).
• Coordinate with stakeholders (OEMs, transmission operators) for data paths.
• Own energization and commissioning plan with scope, readiness gates, and risk mitigations.
• Monitor progress, resolve field issues, and provide on-site programming during commissioning.
• Ensure SCADA deliverables align with project requirements and schedules.
• Maintain system configurations for SCADA, PLC, RTU, and IT/OT equipment.
• Oversee as-built turnover packages to Operations for maintenance.
• Support due diligence with independent engineers with technical input.
