Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks an Electrical Intern to join its renewable energy design team in Westminster, CO. You will support the design of collection systems, interconnection facilities, and balance-of-plant electrical infrastructure for wind, solar, and battery storage projects, under supervision of Senior Engineers.

You will gain hands-on experience applying IEEE, NESC, and NEC standards, working on one-line diagrams, layouts, and equipment specs in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate engineering program, preferably Electrical Engineering.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
• Willingness to learn in a cross-disciplinary work environment and attend site visits.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers to build proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, SKM/ETAP and other tools.
• Assist in creating one-line diagrams, layouts, and grounding plans for renewable projects.
• Support equipment specs, BOMs, and construction documents for interconnection facilities.
• Help perform load flow, short circuit, and cable sizing calculations under supervision.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure project progress.
• Apply IEEE, NESC, NEC standards under licensed Senior Engineers.
