Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Intern to join our engineering team. You will assist in the design of foundations and support structures for utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects, applying coursework to real-world renewable infrastructure.

The role offers exposure to industry standards (ACI, AISC, IBC, ASCE 7), preparation of calculations and drawings, field site visits, and collaboration with senior engineers on multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate engineering program, preferably Civil with a Structural emphasis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for client, management, and team interactions.
• Willingness to learn in a flexible, cross-disciplinary environment.
• Willingness to attend site visits and work outdoors when needed.
• Valid driver''s license and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist in structural analysis and design of foundations, solar racking, and equipment pads.
• Support preparation of calculations, drawings, and construction documents.
• Help perform wind, seismic, and gravity load calculations per building codes.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams to advance projects.
• Travel to project sites to gather field data and interface with clients.
