Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Migration z/OS SME to lead mainframe z/OS environments remotely in the United States. You will install, customize, test, implement and support ISV products, use SMP/E, and coordinate with vendors.

You will provide 24/7 coverage and mentor junior DBAs. The role requires 8+ years of Mainframe z/OS experience, familiarity with JES2/JES3, TSO, RACF, CFRM policies, Rexx, z/OS Sysplexes, and strong documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in managing Mainframe z/OS systems.
• Experience with ISV products and vendor engagement.
• Proficiency with SMP/E, z/OS parameters, PARMLIB.
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7/365 software support, including on-call during off-hours.
• Install, customize, test, implement and support ISV products and site-specific requirements.
• Create, populate, secure, and troubleshoot IBM z/OS USS file systems and mount points.
• Create/update and debug z/OS parameters using PARMLIB.
• Plan, create and update installation/upgrades documentation.
