Job summary

Texas State Technical College is seeking an XR Developer to design, develop, and deploy immersive VR/AR/MR experiences using Unity and Unreal Engine. This role focuses on translating learning objectives into engaging XR applications across desktop, headset, and LMS environments.

You will collaborate with faculty, designers, and engineers to create scalable XR solutions, integrate AI and WebXR, and ensure accessibility and performance across platforms. Telework is eligible in hybrid arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, game development, XR or related field.
• 3–4+ years in real-time engines (Unity/Unreal) programming (C#/C++/JS).
• Portfolio or repo showing interactive 3D/XR projects.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, prototypes and maintains immersive XR applications and simulations.
• Develops browser-based XR experiences using WebXR and HTML/JS.
• Integrates XR with LMS and learning platforms for authentication, progress tracking and reporting.
• Collaborates with instructional designers and engineers to define requirements and standards.
• Documents architecture, APIs, and development processes for teamwork.
