Job summary

Texas State Technical College is seeking an Extended Reality (XR) Developer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain immersive XR applications and simulations using Unity, Unreal Engine, and WebXR across VR headsets, desktop, and browser environments.

You will collaborate with faculty, instructional designers, engineers and AI teams to create scalable XR solutions, test and optimize performance and accessibility, integrate with LMS platforms, document code and standards, and mentor stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, Extended Reality, or a closely related field.
• 3–4 years of experience developing interactive software using Unity or Unreal Engine with C#, C++, or JavaScript.
• Portfolio, GitHub, or demonstrable XR projects showcasing 3D or XR development.
• Experience developing VR/AR/MR apps and using source control.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, prototypes, deploys, and maintains immersive XR apps using Unity/Unreal and related XR tech.
• Develops browser-based XR experiences using HTML/JavaScript/WebXR and integrates with LMS platforms.
• Collaborates with instructional designers, faculty, and engineers to define requirements and develop XR solutions.
• Provides training and guidance to stakeholders, and documents code, architecture, and development processes.
• Researches evolving XR and AI tech and contributes to reusable frameworks and standards.
