Job summary

Texas State Technical College is seeking an Extended Reality (XR) Developer to design, build, deploy, and maintain immersive XR applications across VR/AR/MR platforms. You will translate learning objectives into engaging XR experiences using Unity/Unreal, WebXR, and related tech.

Collaborate with faculty, instructional designers, project managers, and engineers to create scalable XR solutions, prototypes, and reusable components, while applying accessibility and usability best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, Extended Reality, or closely related field.
• 3-4 years of experience developing interactive software using real-time engines (Unity/Unreal) and languages (C#, C++, JavaScript).
• Portfolio, GitHub, or demonstrable XR development work.
• Experience with interactive 3D simulations or XR projects and source control.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, prototypes, deploys, and maintains XR apps using Unity/Unreal and related XR tech.
• Integrates AI features (avatars, agents) into immersive experiences.
• Collaborates with instructional designers, faculty, and engineers to deliver scalable XR solutions.
• Tests, debugs, and optimizes XR experiences for performance and accessibility.
