Job summary

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is seeking an Experienced XR Developer to design, build, and deploy immersive XR applications using Unity/Unreal Engine. The role includes collaborating with faculty and engineers to translate learning objectives into scalable XR experiences and tools.

You will implement WebXR, browser-based interfaces, and LMS integrations, while mentoring stakeholders and maintaining coding standards across projects. Telework eligibility supports remote work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, Extended Reality, or a closely related field.
• 3-4 years of experience developing interactive software applications using real-time engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine and programming languages including C#, C++, or JavaScript.
• Demonstrated experience developing interactive 3D simulations, VR/AR/MR applications, and utilizing source control systems.
• A portfolio, GitHub repository, or demonstrable body of work showcasing interactive 3D or XR development projects.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, prototypes, deploys, and maintains immersive XR applications using Unity and/or Unreal Engine.
• Develops browser-based XR experiences using HTML, JavaScript, WebXR, and related web technologies and integrates XR with LMS platforms.
• Collaborates with instructional designers, faculty, and engineers to define requirements and establish coding standards and workflows.
• Provides training and technical guidance to stakeholders on XR technologies and assists with setup, deployment, and troubleshooting.
