Job summary

The Hartford is hiring a Team Leader in Claims to manage investigation, compensability, disposition, and settlement following policy and regulatory guidelines. You will guide staff, monitor reserves and costs, and drive improvements in loss-cost containment.

Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills are required, with experience in workers' compensation claims and a proactive coaching approach. Hybrid or remote work options available near specified office locations.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership skills in terms of teaching, guiding, coaching and developing staff.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written regardless of audience demographic.
• Possess analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Extensive knowledge of customer service drivers and the ability to resolve customer issues, needs and concerns independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage claim professionals with corresponding claim inventories.
• Utilize various financial reporting tools to monitor and address reserve accuracy and trending.
• Manage and implement change including explaining drivers for business goals.
• Stay current on issues impacting personal and/or commercial business including industry and marketplace trends.
• Use critical thinking to gather information, apply sound reasoning and make decisions.
• Oversee the investigation, disposition, and settlement of claims in compliance with standards.
• Accurately assess indemnity and expense exposure and set reserves.
• Train, coach and develop staff to achieve goals.
