Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an accomplished Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist I for our Northeast region. This role supports a hybrid work schedule from Parsippany or Boston offices, or a fully remote setup based in CT, DE, ME, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT, VA, or WV.

You will manage multi-party commercial line workers' compensation claims with low to moderate exposure, using judgment to assess liability, verify coverage, set reserves, and negotiate settlements within authority, all

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years in Claims or Insurance.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with 2+ years in Claims.
• High School Diploma with 4+ years in Claims or Insurance.
• Zurich Claims Training Program with 2+ years in Claims.
• Must obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses.
• Microsoft Office experience.
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets and products.

Responsibilities

• Document claims file with accurate data per best practices.
• Determine liability by analyzing facts and applicable law.
• Analyze coverage and determine loss within policy terms.
• Develop case strategy and escalate issues for timely resolution.
• Establish reserves and review claims within authority.
• Assess damages and ranges allowed by law.
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits.
• Meet quality standards by following best practices.
