Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an accomplished Workers Compensation Claims Specialist I for the Northeast region. The role offers a hybrid schedule from Parsippany or Boston offices, or a fully remote setup based in CT, DE, ME, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT, VA or WV.

The position handles multi-party commercial line Workman’s Compensation claims of low to moderate exposure, ensuring efficient, customer-centric service while applying coverage and liability judgments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years in Claims/Insurance OR equivalent Zurich credential.
• Must obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets and products.

Responsibilities

• Document claims file by accurately capturing and updating data within authority limits.
• Assess liability by gathering facts and applying applicable law.
• Verify coverage and determine policy applicability for claims.
• Develop case strategy and evaluation; escalate issues as needed.
• Establish reserves and review claims throughout the cycle within authority.
• Assess damages and calculate applicable damages or ranges.
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits.
