Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an accomplished Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist I for the Northeast region. The role offers a hybrid schedule from Parsippany or Boston offices, or fully remote based in CT, DE, ME, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT, VA, or WV.

You will manage multi-party commercial line Workman's Comp claims of low to moderate exposure, ensuring efficient, customer-centric service while applying applicable laws and policy terms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years in Claims or Insurance
• Zurich Apprentice with Associate Degree and 2+ years in Claims
• High School Diploma with 4+ years in Claims
• Zurich Claims Training Program with 2+ years in Claims
• Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)
• Microsoft Office experience
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets and products

Responsibilities

• Document claims file with accurate data for moderate to high exposure
• Determine liability by analyzing facts and applying applicable law
• Verify coverage and determine if loss falls within policy
• Develop case strategy to achieve timely resolution
• Establish reserves and review claims within authority
• Assess damages and calculate applicable ranges allowed by law
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits
• Meet quality standards by following best practices
