Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking a Workers Compensation Claims Specialist I for the Northeast region. The role offers a hybrid schedule from Parsippany or Boston, or a fully remote setup based in CT, DE, ME, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT, VA or WV.

You will handle multi-party commercial line Workman’s Compensation claims of low to moderate exposure, ensuring efficient, customer-centric service. The pay range is 49,500–81,000 USD with a 10% short-term incentive eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) with 2+ years in Claims/Insurance OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with 2+ years in Claims/Insurance OR
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years in Claims/Insurance OR
• Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program with 2+ years in Claims/Insurance and
• Must obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses and
• Microsoft Office experience and knowledge of insurance regulations, markets and products.

Responsibilities

• Document claims file by accurately capturing and updating data per best practices for commercial line claims with moderate to high exposure.
• Exercise judgment to determine liability by analyzing facts and applicable law.
• Assess coverage and verify policy details to determine if loss falls within coverage.
• Develop case strategy and evaluation to achieve timely resolution of claims.
• Establish reserves within authority limits and review throughout the claims cycle.
• Assess damages and calculate damages or ranges allowed by law.
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits and using available tools and resources.
• Meet quality standards by following best practices.
