Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) seeks a senior Workday Reporting and Data Analytics Architect to serve as design authority across HCM, Payroll, and Finance. This remote role drives architecture, security design, and reporting standards, mentoring analysts and aligning with Enterprise BI Architecture and IS leadership.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of Workday architecture across at least two of HCM, Payroll, and Finance.
• Advanced expertise in Workday reporting: custom report types, calculated fields, data sources, dashboards, and report performance tuning.
• Working knowledge of Workday Prism Analytics, Workday Extend, and Workday integration tools (EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, web services).
• Expert knowledge of Workday security models, including domain and business process security, role-based access, and segregation of duties.
• Understanding of enterprise data concepts, including data governance, lineage, master data, and how operational system data feeds enterprise analytics.
• Demonstrated ability to set technical standards and hold others’ work to them through design review.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop technical staff without direct supervisory authority.
• Ability to lead through influence across HR, Finance, IS, and BI teams with competing priorities.
• Ability to present architectural options, risks, and trade-offs clearly to senior leaders.
• Sound judgment in resolving ambiguous, high-impact problems with limited precedent.

Responsibilities

• Serve as design authority for complex, cross-module Workday solutions.
• Define target-state architecture across HCM, Payroll, and Finance, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance.
• Lead architecture for high-risk initiatives, including new module deployments and major business process redesigns.
• Establish architectural standards, design patterns, and naming conventions across configuration, integrations, and reporting.
• Determine security models to be used for complex reporting.
• Anticipate downstream impact of Workday releases and recommend adoption strategy.
• Own the architecture of Workday reporting, including custom reports, calculated fields, dashboards, and data sources.
• Define reporting standards for design, data source selection, calculated field reuse, performance, and lifecycle management.
• Govern the Workday report inventory and consolidate overlapping calculated fields.
• Partner with Enterprise BI Architecture to design governed data extracts from Workday into the enterprise data platform.
• Ensure reporting security aligns with Workday domain and role-based access.
