Job summary

Canonical is hiring a Web Engineering Manager to lead a distributed team building reliable, scalable web experiences for Canonical products. You will mentor engineers, drive technical delivery and influence engineering culture while collaborating with product managers and other teams.

Based remotely in the EMEA region, you’ll design and implement well-tested software using Web technologies, TypeScript, React or Flutter, and focus on accessibility and performance.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM.
• Strong web development background and leadership experience.
• Proficient in TypeScript, React or Flutter.
• Professional English communication.
• Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a distributed web engineering team.
• Contribute to architecture and code reviews.
• Design, implement and deploy web services.
• Collaborate with product managers and other engineering teams.
• Advocate for accessibility and performance.
• Drive delivery and ensure timely milestones.
• Participate in occasional in-person events when required.
