Job summary

Canonical is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a remote, globally distributed team developing Python and Golang micro-services powering the Snap Store and Charmhub.io marketplaces. You will shape an engaging engineering culture, review code, and align delivery with strategy and security standards.

You will mentor engineers, drive high velocity with quality, and collaborate with product managers and architects to build scalable SaaS capabilities.

Qualifications

Experience leading modern, agile software teams.
Mentor engineers and grow talent within the team.
Strong Python (plus Golang) coding and review skills.
Practical Linux system administration knowledge.
Willingness to travel up to 4 times per year.

Responsibilities

Lead a remote engineering team across time zones.
Develop talent through coaching, feedback and career development.
Set and manage expectations with other teams and stakeholders.
Collaborate with PMs, architects and other leaders on roadmaps.
Review code and architecture to ensure quality and reliability.
Help deliver clean, scalable APIs using Python and Golang.
