Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineer to identify, pilot and deploy automation technologies across facilities. You will work with operations, IT, and solution design teams to drive ROI, validate design options, and manage small projects through go-live.

The role emphasizes data analytics, SAT testing, vendor coordination and continuous improvement to create competitive advantages. Travel up to 30–40% is required to support multiple sites and optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in industrial/mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in warehouse automation, material handling, industrial engineering or warehouse systems integration.
• 2+ years in demonstrated warehouse automation experience.
• Experience with sortation conveyors, autonomous vehicles/robots, AS/RS.
• Automation, management consulting, physical & process robotics experience.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management operations, data analytics,Lean methods.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment and automation types.
• CAD, slotting, MOST, simulation, WMS, Labor Mgt tools.
• Industrial or Mechanical Engineering knowledge.
• ROI/business case analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation technology evaluation and ROI justification for new projects.
• Support automation project lead on identifying gaps in vendor FSD/SOW.
• Provide input on design options for implementation and performance.
• Procurement support and vendor reviews for automation.
• Manage small implementation projects; track milestones and punch lists.
• Coordinate on-site support and SAT testing and post-go-live issues.
• Perform data analytics to optimize system performance.
• Assist with SAT testing and punch list tracking.
• Review team strategy and set personal goals.
• Track project budgets with management.
• Troubleshoot Priority 1-5 tickets with vendors.
