Job summary

Ladders is seeking a VP, Controller to lead the accounting function for a high-growth technology company. This senior finance leader will own reporting, controls, and the close process, partnering with the CFO, executive team, and external auditors to support decision-making and audit readiness.

You will modernize workflows with automation and AI, build a scalable team, and ensure US GAAP accuracy, SOX compliance, and equity accounting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years progressive accounting experience with 5+ years leading teams.
• CPA license is required.
• Experience in high-growth technology, SaaS, or cloud infrastructure.
• Deep US GAAP and financial reporting expertise.
• Proven SOX design and internal controls implementation.
• Experience managing external audits and auditor relationships.
• Strong executive-level presentation skills.
• Builder mindset with sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and set strategy for the accounting organization.
• Build and develop a high-performing accounting team.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Oversee revenue recognition and technical accounting.
• Manage external audits and lead audit processes.
• Design and maintain a robust internal control environment.
• Present financial results to CFO, executives, and board.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting-impact decisions.
• Drive automation and AI in accounting workflows.
• Oversee tax, compliance, and equity accounting.
