Job summary

Trust & Will, a remote-first leader in digital estate planning, seeks a Controller to steer financial operations during a growth phase. You will own accounting for the company and subsidiaries, oversee month-end close, tax compliance, and the integration of AI-driven workflows.

This role partners with the CFO and FP&A, leads audits, optimizes controls, and scales the tech stack. We value big‑4 experience, startup savvy, and strong communication to explain complex numbers to non-finance

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of accounting experience with at least 4–5 years in a Controller or senior leadership role in a high-growth environment.
CPA certification preferred.
Hands-on experience applying AI or automation to accounting workflows.
Experience designing internal controls for automated or AI-assisted processes.

Responsibilities

Own accounting at Trust & Will and subsidiaries; manage month-end close, tax compliance, and AP/AR.
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and scale operations.
Lead audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
Manage and optimize accounting tech stack; collaborate with FP&A.
Partner with CFO on cost analysis and financial planning with FP&A.
Oversee vendor relationships and ensure policy compliance.
