Job summary

Trust & Will, a remote-first digital estate planning leader, seeks a Controller to steer financial operations during a growth phase. You will lead the accounting team, own month-end close, tax compliance, and internal controls, while driving scalable processes and AI-enabled workflows.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in accounting with leadership, strong communication, and a track record in startups or high-growth environments, plus CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years accounting experience with 4–5 years in a Controller or similar leadership role in a high-growth environment.
• Proven track record in financial reporting, compliance, and implementing financial controls.
• Hands-on AI or automation experience applied to accounting workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting at Trust & Will and its subsidiaries, manage month-end close, tax compliance, payables/receivables.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to enable scaling and safeguard assets.
• Lead audits and reconciliations with accurate bookkeeping down to the last detail.
• Oversee accounting technology stack and collaborate with FP&A for integrated systems.
• Partner with CFO on cost analysis and strategic planning with FP&A.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure policy compliance.
