Job summary

Stride, Inc., in partnership with Volunteer State Virtual Academy (VSVA), seeks an Academic Administrator/Principal to lead educational, administrative and counseling activities in a predominantly virtual setting. You will supervise staff, align programs with standards and collaborate with families to drive student success.

Expect a Master’s in education (or related field), 5 years of educational experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

Master's degree in business, education or related field and 5 years of educational experience required
One year of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Ability to clear required background check
Demonstrated leadership, organizational and time management skills
Experience as an online/virtual educator preferred
State license as a School Administrator required

Responsibilities

Ensure conformance of educational programs to state and local standards through evaluation and coordination
Research and implement non-K12 curriculum resources meeting state standards
Manage teaching and administrative staff and lead Master/Lead Teachers and programs
Articulate school mission and vision to align stakeholders for collaboration in a virtual/remote environment
Consult with teachers, students and parents on educational and behavioral issues
Coordinate with K12 Enrollment regarding expulsions and withdrawals
Ensure compliance with laws including special education
Develop and oversee implementation of the school's Academic Improvement Plan
