Job summary

Virginia Transformer is seeking a Sales Engineer for the Utility Market. The role is 100% remote (East Coast preferred) with travel about 40–50%. Develop strategies to grow new business, expand current accounts, and drive profitable sales growth across IOUs and public power utilities.

The candidate will lead negotiations, collaborate with engineers, and maintain a strong CRM pipeline while building relationships with EPCs, distributors, and channel partners. Authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Technical sales experience in the electric utility industry is preferred.
• Experience selling high-voltage electrical equipment, power transformers, field services, testing, or commissioning solutions.
• Experience working with manufacturer representatives, EPC firms, contractors, and distribution partners.
• Willingness to travel approximately 40–50% and able to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a sales growth strategy for your assigned utility territory.
• Generate new business opportunities while expanding existing customer relationships.
• Increase sales, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of utility opportunities.
• Collaborate with Application Engineers to prepare accurate, competitive quotations.
• Drive quotation follow-up activities to improve booking rates and profitability.
• Lead commercial negotiations for strategic opportunities.
• Maintain CRM accuracy, forecasting, and pipeline reporting.
