Job summary

Prisma Health Urgent Care Remote Supervising Physician is a part-time, fully remote role based in South Carolina, delivering clinical oversight and support to Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) across Prisma Health Urgent Care.

You will review cases, cosign documentation, and provide guidance on escalation and ongoing care while ensuring compliance with SC medical board requirements and Prisma Health policies. This role supports center coverage and quality initiatives remotely.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible and SC medical license
• Current DEA registration
• Experience reading diagnostic studies (X-rays, EKGs)
• Experience with procedures (suturing, drainage of abscesses)
• BLS certification available if needed
• Eligible for Prisma Health Urgent Care / WellStreet credentialing

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight, consultation, and support to APPs during supervision periods.
• Cosign APP documentation as required by law and policy.
• Provide clinical guidance for high-risk cases and escalation to higher levels of care.
• Support APPs during orientation and enhanced supervision periods.
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities.
