Job summary

Prisma Health Urgent Care is seeking a remote Supervising Physician to provide clinical oversight, consultation, and support to Advanced Practice Providers in accordance with SC law and Prisma Health policies. This fully remote role requires residing in South Carolina, with duties including supervision, case review, and participation in quality improvement activities within the Urgent Care network.

You will cosign documentation, assist with credentialing, and guide APPs through high-risk cases,

Qualifications

• Must physically reside in the state of South Carolina.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible and licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina
• Current DEA registration
• Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses
• Experience reading diagnostic studies, including X-rays and EKGs
• BLS certification (we will provide this if needed)
• Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing set forth by Prisma Health Urgent Care / WellStreet Urgent Care
• Experience in Urgent Care, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other employees

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight, consultation, and support to APPs.
• Offer timely clinical guidance during supervision or coverage periods.
• Review and co-sign APP documentation as required by law or policy.
• Support APP practice within scope of supervision and prescriptive authority.
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities.
