Job summary

Prisma Health Urgent Care is seeking a Remote Supervising Physician to provide clinical oversight and support to Advanced Practice Providers. The physician will supervise APPs under SC requirements and collaborate across centers while working remotely, with residency in South Carolina and active SC medical licensure.

This role emphasizes timely clinical guidance, case review, and quality oversight to ensure safe, efficient patient care within Prisma Health Urgent Care policies and state

Qualifications

• Must physically reside in the state of South Carolina.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible and licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina.
• Current DEA registration.
• Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses.
• Experience reading diagnostic studies, including X-rays and EKGs.
• BLS certification (we will provide this if needed).
• Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing set forth by Prisma Health Urgent Care / WellStreet Urgent Care.
• Experience in Urgent Care, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight, consultation, and support to APPs during supervision or coverage periods.
• Cosign APP documentation when required by law or policy.
• Provide clinical direction and escalation recommendations as needed.
• Review and support newly credentialed APPs during orientation or supervision.
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities related to APP practice.
