Job summary

Prisma Health Urgent Care Remote Supervising Physician is a part-time, fully remote role that requires you to reside in South Carolina. You will provide clinical oversight, consultation, and support to APPs, safeguarding patient care and regulatory compliance.

You will cosign documentation as required, review high‑risk cases, and participate in quality improvement activities, while guiding APP practice within your supervising scope.

Qualifications

• Must physically reside in the state of South Carolina.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible and licensed to practice medicine in SC.
• Current DEA registration.
• Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses.
• Experience reading diagnostic studies, including X-rays and EKGs.
• BLS certification (we will provide this if needed).
• Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing per Prisma Health Urgent Care / WellStreet.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely clinical consultation and support to APPs during supervision or coverage periods.
• Provide clinical guidance and review cases with physician involvement for high‑risk situations.
• Provide clinical direction and recommendations for evaluation, treatment, follow-up, or escalation.
• Review and cosign APP documentation as required by law and policy.
• Support and review newly credentialed APPs during orientation or enhanced supervision.
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities related to APP practice.
• Support APP practice within physician supervision, collaboration, delegation, and prescriptive authority.
