Job summary

Prisma Health Urgent Care Remote Supervising Physician is a part-time, fully remote role based in South Carolina, responsible for supervising APPs and providing clinical oversight and guidance.

The physician will cosign documentation, review cases, and support APP orientation, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives, while maintaining compliance with SC medical board requirements.

Qualifications

• Must physically reside in the state of South Carolina.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible and licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina.
• Current DEA registration.
• Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses.
• Experience reading diagnostic studies, including X-rays and EKGs.
• BLS certification (we will provide this if needed).
• Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing set forth by Prisma Health Urgent Care / WellStreet Urgent Care.
• Experience in Urgent Care, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely clinical consultation and support to APPs during supervision or coverage periods.
• Provide clinical guidance and review cases requiring physician involvement.
• Provide appropriate clinical direction when concerns arise and escalation when needed.
• Cosign APP documentation when required by law or policy.
• Support newly hired or credentialed APPs during orientation or supervision.
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities related to APP practice.
• Support APP practice within the physician supervision scope and prescriptive authority.
• Serve as Supervising Physician for assigned centers as needed.
