Job summary

Prisma Health Urgent Care is seeking a remote Supervising Physician to oversee APPs in a fully remote role, with the physician residing in South Carolina. You will provide clinical oversight, consultations, and reviews of APP practice, while ensuring compliance with SC medical board requirements.

This role involves supervising or collaborating with APPs, cosigning documentation, and guiding care plans during coverage periods.

Qualifications

• Must physically reside in the state of South Carolina
• Board Certified or Board Eligible and licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina
• Current DEA registration
• Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses
• Experience reading diagnostic studies, including X-rays and EKGs
• BLS certification (we will provide this if needed)
• Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing set forth by Prisma Health Urgent Care / WellStreet Urgent Care
• Experience in Urgent Care, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other employees

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight, consultation, and support to APPs in accordance with applicable laws and Prisma Health Urgent Care policies and procedures
• Fulfill supervision/credentialing responsibilities and cosign APP documentation as required by law
• Provide clinical direction and escalation to higher level of care as needed
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities related to APP practice
• Support APP practice within the provider's scope of practice and supervision requirements
• Serve as Supervising Physician for assigned centers during certain days and provide coverage as needed
