Job summary

Prisma Health Urgent Care Remote Supervising Physician is sought to provide clinical oversight and support to APPs across a remote model. You will supervise, review cases, and cosign documentation while ensuring compliance with SC regulations.

This part-time, remote role requires residency in South Carolina and board certification/eligibility with SC licensure, plus DEA and BLS as applicable. Prior urgent care or emergency medicine experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must reside in the state of South Carolina.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible and licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina.
• Current DEA registration.
• Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses.
• Experience reading X-rays and ECGs.
• BLS certification (we will provide if needed).
• Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing by Prisma Health Urgent Care / WellStreet Urgent Care.
• Urgent Care, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight and supervision to APPs during assigned coverage periods, including by telephone when not onsite.
• Offer clinical guidance on high-risk cases, abnormal findings, ECGs, and escalation needs.
• Direct care plans, recommend evaluation or escalation to higher levels of care when needed.
• Cosign APP documentation as required by law and policy.
• Assist in onboarding and mentoring newly credentialed APPs.
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities related to APP practice.
• Support APP practice within the supervised scope and prescriptive authority.
• Coordinate daily supervision and coverage across Prisma Health Urgent Care centers.
