Job summary

Great American Insurance Group is seeking an Underwriting Specialist to support the Northeast territory (Maine to Virginia). This fully remote role prefers candidates in the Northeast or Illinois/Wisconsin.

You will evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business, analyze risk data, and interact with actuaries, agents, and clients to ensure accurate terms and pricing. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years underwriting experience with strong communication and analytical skills,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Generally 5+ years of underwriting or related field experience; professional designation preferred (AU, CPCU, CIC, INS, ARM).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong analytical abilities; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and underwrites new and renewal business per guidelines and risk appetite.
• Analyzes risk data to determine coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Collaborates with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to obtain needed information and clarify details.
