Job summary

Great American Insurance Group's Specialty Human Services division is seeking an Underwriting Specialist to support the Northeast region. This fully remote role welcomes candidates in the Northeast or Illinois/Wisconsin, with a salary range of $90,000 to $125,000 and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include underwriting new and renewal business, analyzing risk data, coordinating with actuaries, agents, and clients, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Travel is occasional as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, risk management, or related field.
• Typically 5+ years underwriting experience; professional designations preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong analytical abilities.
• Occasional travel required.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites new and renewal business in accordance with guidelines.
• Analyzes risk data to inform coverage, pricing, terms.
• Collaborates with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to gather information.
• Orders/reviews reports to inform decisions and ensure compliance.
• Maintains documentation of underwriting decisions and regulatory compliance.
• Develops relationships to generate and retain profitable business.
