The job emphasizes underwriting accuracy, collaboration with agents and analysts, and staying current with industry changes. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in underwriting, plus strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of underwriting or related field experience. Professional designation preferred (AU/CPCU/CIC/INS/ARM).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong analytical abilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and underwrites new and renewal business per underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
• Analyzes risk data to determine coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Collaborates with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to gather information and clarify details.
• Orders and reviews reports (motor vehicle, loss history, outside inspections) to inform decisions.
• Ensures documentation of underwriting decisions and regulatory compliance.
• Reviews existing policies for renewals or modifications.
• Communicates underwriting decisions to internal teams, agents, and brokers clearly.
• Keeps updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions.
• Develops and maintains relationships to generate new business and retain profitable accounts.
• Interprets and markets products and services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
