Job summary

Stride, Inc. seeks a licensed Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) to serve as an independent contractor in a virtual school environment.

The position is part-time (M-F, 8am–5pm) and may require licensure in multiple states. You will collaborate with IEP teams to deliver specialized services, maintain records, and adapt instruction using assistive technology to support students with visual impairments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in public schools as a TVI.
• State educator license in Visual Impairments or related field.
• Ability to work independently with at least 20 hours per week during school hours.
• Experience teaching in an online/virtual environment.
• Strong familiarity with assistive technology for visual impairments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• MS365 proficiency.
• Ability to clear required background check.
• Remote work availability across states.

Responsibilities

• Ensure services are provided as determined by the IEP team.
• Develop schedules with parents/teachers for regular attendance.
• Instruct students and families in communication strategies and technologies.
• Serve as Teacher of Record for assigned caseload.
• Maintain records and progress reports for compliance.
• Collect data to monitor IEP goals and objectives.
• Provide engaging educational experiences for students.
• Communicate with families regularly and professionally.
• Work from a professional home office during designated hours.
