Job summary

Stride, Inc. seeks a part-time Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) contractor to serve eligible special education students in a virtual setting. This 1099 Independent Consultant role supports IEP-governed services and may require licensure in multiple states.

The position is remote and open to residents across the United States, with M-F hours 8am–5pm. Collaboration with families and school staff is essential for personalized learning and student success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in public school environment as TVI
• State educator license in Visual Impairments or related field
• Ability to work independently with at least 20 hours/week
• Experience teaching in online/virtual environment

Responsibilities

• Provide services per IEP and collaborate with IEP team
• Communicate with parents and teachers to schedule regular attendance and participation
• Instruct students/families/teachers in assistive tech and accessible materials
• Serve as Teacher of Record (TOR) for assigned caseload
• Maintain records and progress reports for compliance and reference
• Collect data and samples to monitor IEP goals and student progress
• Be available during designated work hours and maintain a professional home office
