Baker Tilly is seeking a Manager to support Tribal government clients with ongoing accounting services and grants management. The role emphasizes delivering high-quality work and building strong client relationships across teams.

You will oversee monthly close, grants reporting, and financial reporting, while guiding policies and procedures development. Occasional travel to client sites and industry events is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience, not-for-profit and/or governmental experience preferred.
• Experience in grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with commitment to exceptional client service across channels.
• Ability to analyze problems, think critically and develop creative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Performs operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly close, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting to key decision makers.
• Prepares polished client deliverables and ensures timely submissions.
• Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters.
• Collaborates with clients to understand business practices, identify improvements, and develop updated policies.
• Manages project start up activities, adheres to schedules, and attends kickoff meetings.
• Coordinates with clients during audits and supports preparation efforts.
• Contributes to growth of the practice and reviews team work for accuracy.
• Occasionally travels to client locations, trainings, or conferences.
