Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Manager to deliver accounting services and grant management for Tribal government clients. The role focuses on monthly close, grants reporting, and financial reporting to key decision makers.

You will develop policies, work with clients to improve processes, manage project start-ups, and support audit coordination. Occasional travel and collaboration with our Business Consulting Services team are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred
• Experience in grants management and financial accounting including account reconciliation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with client service focus
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and government/grant management software

Responsibilities

• Performs operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly closing, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting to key decision makers
• Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters
• Works with clients to understand business practices, identify improvements, and develop updated policies
• Performs project start up activities, adheres to schedules, attends kickoff meetings
• Coordinates with clients during audits and helps prepare for audits
• Assists in growing the practice and collaborates with the Business Consulting Services team
• Occasionally travels to client locations, trainings, or industry conferences
