Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience, not-for-profit and/or governmental experience.
• Experience in grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent client service.
• Effective time management and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel 10–15% as needed.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and government accounting/grant management software.

Responsibilities

• Performs operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly close, grants management, and financial reporting.
• Prepares polished deliverables for clients and ensures timely delivery.
• Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters.
• Collaborates with clients to define processes and update policies.
• Performs project startup activities and adheres to schedules.
• Coordinates with clients during audits and helps prepare for audits.
• Supports practice growth and reviews team work for accuracy.
• Works as a member of the Business Consulting Services team.
• Occasionally travels to client locations or training events.
